Drone privacy guidelines are being developed to assist drone operators operate in accordance with privacy laws and community guidelines.
Public consultation is now open for the drafted Drone Privacy Guidelines - Don’t pry when you fly: Privacy considerations for drone use until 11 August 2023. Feedback can be provided via the department’s Have Your Say page or by emailing drones@infrastructure.gov.au.
When flying drones, it is important to respect privacy and we want to make it as easy as possible for everyone to understand safe and considerate drone use that is in line with community expectations. The guidelines aim to help drone users and community understand privacy laws in relation to drone use.
