Airservices Australia is seeking feedback on its proposed pricing model for access to the Flight Information Management System (FIMS), a key component of Australia's future Uncrewed Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM) ecosystem.
The proposed model would apply charges to approved Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) Service Suppliers (USSs) through an annual access fee and a per-flight authorisation fee for certain higher-complexity operations. Airservices is not proposing direct charges for recreational drone users, model aircraft operators or commercial drone operators.
Industry feedback will help shape the final pricing approach before implementation.
Consultation is open until 11:59 pm (AEST) on Sunday, 27 September 2026.
