Industry and research organisations across Australia are working to help realise the growing opportunities presented by emerging aviation technologies.
For example, initiatives such as the TestLab program, which aims to help Australia’s small to medium enterprises adapt and use new technologies, are supporting research and development opportunities in the Australian drone industry.
The North Australia Centre for Autonomous Systems (NACAS), Charles Darwin University and RMIT University are researching and manufacturing drones through the TestLab program. The program will help improve existing operations, reduce reliance on outsourcing and create new services to increase revenue and gain a competitive edge.
Charles Darwin University will also offer a Diploma of Advanced Manufacturing alongside the TestLab program to provide training and accreditation opportunities in Uncrewed Autonomous Systems manufacturing for Australia’s next generation workforce.
